Urban Cultivator: The Last Immortal
Tóm tắt
Urban cultivation / modern fantasy with thriller undertones. The tone balances the mundane texture of modern city life — student debt, campus politics, ride-share apps — against the slow revelation of a hidden world of cultivation that operates beneath the surface of everything. Early chapters feel like contemporary fiction with a supernatural edge; later chapters lean into conspiracy, faction warfare, and existential dread. Humor is dry and character-driven, never parody. **Target readers:** Yo

Nhân vật (10)
Shen Yao
antagonist / wild cardShen Wuya's great-grandson and the Shen Family's field operative. Age 24, lean and pale, with a habit of appearing in doorways without warning. He cultivates in shadow techniques — concealment, misdirection, spiritual suppression. He is loyal to his great-grandfather not out of love but out of a debt he believes he can never repay: Wuya saved him from a cultivation deviation that should have killed him. He is efficient, cold, and privately uncertain about whether Wuya's plan for the vein is right. His loyalty is the most dangerous thing about him — because if it cracks, the fallout will be catastrophic.
Mu Qingyan
love interest / supporting characterThe 21-year-old eldest daughter of the Mu Family, one of the three hidden cultivator lineages controlling Qingshan City. She is studying art history at the same university — a cover her family chose for her because it is 'harmless.' In reality, she is a Foundation Building cultivator specializing in spiritual perception techniques. She has the composed surface her family demands — cool voice, precise gestures, immaculate posture — but underneath she is furious at a life that was planned for her before she could speak. She paints in secret: abstract works full of color that she hides under her bed. She approaches Lin Tian initially on her family's orders to assess the Heaven Destiny Eye, but his refusal to perform — his awkwardness, his genuine panic, his inability to pretend — unsettles her carefully maintained world.
Lin Zhenhai
mentor (posthumous)Lin Tian's deceased grandfather, who raised him from age six and died two years before the story begins. To the neighborhood, he was a gentle old man who ran a traditional medicine shop and never raised his voice. In truth, he was a Core Formation cultivator who sealed his own cultivation to hide from the Shen Family. He left behind a jade pendant containing sealed memories of his cultivation lineage — the Heaven Destiny Tradition, a forgotten school that specialized in perception, divination, and formation work. The pendant unlocks in stages as Lin Tian's cultivation deepens, each time revealing more about the world that was and the choices that led to its collapse.
Shen Wuya
primary antagonistThe current head of the Shen Family — and, though almost no one knows it, the same man who drained the spiritual vein 200 years ago. He appears to be a distinguished 60-year-old retired professor of archaeology at Qingshan University. In reality, he has sustained his life through forbidden techniques that draw vitality from the sealed vein itself. He is thin, silver-haired, speaks softly, and smiles with his eyes closed. He has been watching Lin Tian since before the accident — possibly since Lin Tian was born. He does not want to destroy the Heaven Destiny Eye. He wants to use it.
Lin Tian
protagonistA 20-year-old college student studying traditional Chinese medicine at Qingshan University. Orphaned at six, raised by his grandfather Lin Zhenhai, who died two years ago leaving behind only a jade pendant and a cramped apartment. Lin Tian is lean, sharp-featured, with restless dark eyes that miss nothing — a habit from years of watching his grandfather's patients. He works part-time at a campus pharmacy, counts his remaining student loan balance in his head when he is nervous, and has exactly two close friends. After a near-fatal car accident, he awakens the Heaven Destiny Eye, a legendary innate spiritual eye that shows him spiritual energy flows, hidden formations, and — most disturbingly — visions of how every person around him will die. He is not brave by nature. He is careful, stubborn, and has a moral reflex he cannot suppress: he cannot watch someone walk toward death without trying to intervene, even when it costs him.
Jiang Hao
rival / reluctant allyThe 23-year-old heir apparent of the Jiang Family, the most martial of the three hidden lineages. Broad-shouldered, blunt-spoken, and openly contemptuous of anyone he considers weak. He cultivates in the Body Refinement tradition — spiritual energy reinforced into muscle and bone — and has the calloused hands and scarred knuckles to prove it. He manages the Jiang Family's legitimate business interests (a construction empire) while also running their enforcement operations in Qingshan's underground. He respects strength and directness. He despises Lin Tian at first sight — not because Lin Tian is weak, but because Lin Tian stumbled into power that Jiang Hao spent years earning through pain.
Chen Wei
supporting character / comic relief with depthLin Tian's roommate and closest friend at Qingshan University. A 21-year-old computer science major who is loud, loyal, endlessly curious, and has no cultivation ability whatsoever. He runs a moderately successful campus food review channel on social media and considers this a more viable career path than software engineering. He is the person Lin Tian talks to when he cannot talk to anyone else — and the person most at risk from being close to Lin Tian, because the Heaven Destiny Eye has shown Lin Tian exactly how Chen Wei will die.
Mu Lingfeng
supporting character / faction leaderThe current head of the Mu Family and Mu Qingyan's aunt. A woman in her fifties who cultivates perception arts — spiritual reading, emotional influence, subtle coercion. She runs the Mu Family's legitimate business (a pharmaceutical empire) and their intelligence network. She is pragmatic to the point of cruelty, but her pragmatism comes from a genuine belief that the Mu Family's survival is the only thing keeping Qingshan City stable. She approved the mission to study Lin Tian's eye and will use any means — including her niece — to secure the Mu Family's position.
Professor Xu Mingshan
supporting character / information brokerA 58-year-old professor of traditional medicine at Qingshan University and Lin Tian's academic advisor. He is one of the few non-family-affiliated people who knows cultivation exists — a loose cultivator of minor talent who chose academia over faction politics. He recognizes something unusual about Lin Tian early on and becomes an informal source of information about the hidden world, though his knowledge has significant gaps. He owes a debt to Lin Zhenhai that he has never been able to repay.
Lin Xi
supporting character / mysteryA girl Lin Tian's age who appears in his death-visions but does not seem to exist in the real world. She has Lin Tian's eyes and his grandfather's smile. She speaks in fragments — memories that are not his, warnings that come too late or too early. As the story progresses, her appearances become more coherent, and Lin Tian begins to suspect she is not a vision but a sealed consciousness — possibly his grandfather's final creation, or a part of himself the eye locked away.
